A Benton Sisters Inspired Health Center
Help us fund a whole-health, wellness and culinary education center in scenic Weaverville, CA.
Eden Renew will be an educational center/hotel where people can stay and learn for extended time periods to develop a stronger foundation for healthy living. Whether for a retreat just to refresh and renew and learn by attending some cooking seminars and health and wellness courses; or to restore your health and gain a stronger foundation. This center will exist to address a growing need in our community and beyond for a stronger foundational understanding of health and wellness.
The Background Story
You may remember the Benton Sisters of the Benton Sisters Family Health Ministry appearing on 3ABN Back in the 1990s. Or perhaps you saw them at ASI or at your church for one of their concerts and cooking seminars. I am their mom, Pam Benton; and I am living proof that God is in the business of miracles. Without His mighty intervention our family would not exist as it is today. I cannot begin to recount how many times God has miraculously acted on behalf of myself or my family. Without Him doing so, there would have been no “Benton Sisters Family Health Ministry” touring the United States for nine years conducting plant-based cooking seminars; and we would not be here to walk through yet another door that God is now opening.
Throughout the years we spent on tour, we often heard how the simple lifestyle changes we were encouraging people to make were truly improving lives. Impressed by the needs we often saw along the way, our daughter Emberly used to talk about how wonderful it would be to open up a Health Center. Unfortunately, in August 2018, Emberly passed away due to complications caused by Cranial Pneumonia.
Then, in February 2019, nearly six months after Emberly passed, a friend of mine emailed me pictures of a small charming hotel for sale in our community. First built in the mid 1800’s it had been recently restored; recapturing much of its original charm and historical ambiance with antiques in all seven of its guest rooms, including a beautifully furnished old-fashioned parlor.
The hotel was on the Historical Registry and the asking price was nearly half of its estimated value. The pictures and sale price intrigued me; so just for fun, with no plans to buy, my husband and I decided to take a peek. As we were taking a tour, I asked for their 3-year profit and loss statement. With one quick glance, I exclaimed out loud, “Wow Lord, it’s a lovely place! But it looks like a financial disaster!” and I was certainly happy to leave it at that. But to my surprise, God spoke to my heart and said, “But not a financial disaster for a Health Center!” My immediate response was, “What? A Health Center here, God?” But I couldn’t shake it. This certainly was not what I had expected.
I went home with so many questions. Was this God answering me? Was He choosing this hotel for a turnkey Health Center (fully furnished – just move in and start operation), or was it just my imagination running wild? Did I stumble onto this hotel by accident or was it by a divine plan?
Miracles Require Faith
Over the months that followed, I wanted to be sure that this was truly God’s leading. And so, I sought out godly council and found myself presenting all possible challenges before God. I watched as God provided answers and opened doors… and quickly too! He healed a number of chronic ailments I had been suffering from and started forging the way ahead of me.
By June, nearly four months after we had first toured the hotel, the project (now titled Eden Renew), was fully supported and endorsed by:
• Dr. Lorayne Barton, Health Ministries Director of the Pacific Union of SDA Conference
• Danny Shelton, Founder of Three Angels Broadcasting Network
• Calvin Thrash, past President of Uchee Pines Health Institute in Alabama
• Dr. Mark Sandoval, Health Ministries Director of the Gulf States Conference of SDA’s & current President of Uchee Pines Health Institute
• Dr. David Abbey, Retired Lifestyle Medicine Professor from Loma Linda University.
• Zachariah Mandache Board Member of ASI Pacific Union & Recruiter with ASI Northern CA.
I threw every obstacle I could possibly imagine at God’s feet… and each time I have watched Him answer and pave the way further.
And so, in an act of obedience, I am speaking out and am simply presenting the opportunity in faith that God is going to provide the funding to purchase this beautiful hotel for the purpose of a Health Center! So, this is where YOU come in!
Are YOU ready to help us impact lives through a Health Center in the heart of Trinity County, California and beyond? We need to raise $650k to do so! $100k will help us with a down payment to secure the property.
On my own, this would be impossible. But with God, ALL THINGS are possible.
This affordable Health Education Center will be focused on well-documented longevity principles, culinary nutrition, exercise and movement, health & wellness coaching and advocacy. We have developed a “teaching kitchen” model for more engaged and interactive learning. We will teach the basic principles of disease, its cause, and prevention as well as the steps that have been proven to scientifically bring the body back into balance. We will incorporate active learning strategies to help participants connect to health and wellness enhancing concepts and application. We will teach how to build back what was broken down!
Our model will not focus on expensive products to acquire health, but strictly on Scientifically Based Natural Laws of Health that offer simple solutions to tenderly bring health awareness back to the people you love and offer a new lease on life. Plus, we will utilize food that tastes amazing!
Through this Health Center, we will reach people both locally and regionally as well as nationally through an online presence. We will also offer training and support to those who wish to start similar natural health education centers in other locations. The need is great, and God is moving! Will you join us in support of this work?
