On Sunday, November 3rd, I'm tackling the TCS New York City Marathon, my first (and possibly last) marathon. 26.2 miles is no easy feat, so to get me through all five boroughs of New York and across the finish line, I've decided to fundraise for my favorite D.C. non-profit, Rock Recovery, for a little added motivation.
Rock Recovery is dedicated to bridging eating-disorder treatment gaps, and was born out of the need for affordable and accessible recovery options for people struggling with disordered eating. I've had the absolute privilege of volunteering with Rock Recovery over the past couple of months, and it goes without saying, the staff, mission, drive, acceptance, and the community that Rock Recovery fosters are incredible and inspiring.
Earlier this year, Rock Recovery moved to its first ever community center to expand programs and services for its existing and new clients. Your donation not only helps provide accessible, affordable services to break barriers of cost and accessibility so quality care can be available to anyone who walks through the door, but provides a safe environment for current and future clients to break isolation and get the help they need.
My goal is to raise $100 for each mile I run - that's $2,620.00.
Your donation today is giving someone hope for a better tomorrow. No donation is too small and no donation goes unnoticed.
Thank you for your support!
