The Lehigh Valley deserves a great book festival. Book-lovers of all ages will meet 150 authors during readings, on-stage interviews, musical slide-shows, panel discussions, open mics and receptions that take place in 20 venues across downtown Easton, in the West Ward, and on Philipsburg's Main Street. Host venues are museums, theaters, schools, galleries, churches and libraries-such as State Theatre, Sigal Museum, Connexions Gallery and Easton Public Market.
Many authors will also visit students at a dozen Easton schools and preschools prior to the Festival.
At our vendor expo, self-published authors will present and sell their books.
Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group will present workshops teaching writing skills at Northampton Community College's South 3rd Street campus.
Puppetry artists from Yippee Skippy Puppet Theater and Big Nazo Creature Creations will offer workshops at Easton Area Community Center, and march in the October 25th Easton Out Loud and October 27th Easton-Philipsburg Halloween Parades. Game designers will teach storytelling and world-building at The Game Gallery.
Most programs will be free of charge, to ensure broad participation.
Easton Book Festival is run by volunteers: we are raising money to pay author expenses, and to operate and promote the Festival.
Hundreds of neighbors are already working to launch what will become an annual celebration of our Valley's literary culture. Please join in helping us make the first Easton Book Festival a big success by donating now, and by sharing this page.
