Last year prior to our annual awards banquet and general meeting weekend, we received a challenge from the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association to raise money for Red Card Cancer. CJSA raised $10,000 during their banquet/AGM weekend. Thanks to the support of our members, we met the challenge and surpassed Connecticut by raising $12,000. Altogether, our two state associates raised $22,000 to support Red Card Cancer in the fight against this terrible disease. This year our collective goal is to raise $30,000. Our Eastern Pennsylvania Goal is to raise $17,000. We will then challenge other state associations to join the fight.
Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer has been working with Red Card Cancer since 2012, helping to raise awareness and funds. Between our Futbol Friday events and the state association challenge, we’ve raised over $50,000 in the past four years. We know we can help due to the strength of our soccer community. We also know we can do more.
Everyone has been touched by cancer. Red Card Cancer is committed to raising money and awareness for cancer research and has partnered with the American Cancer Society to drive engagement and fundraising even further.
By engaging and working with all levels of the greater soccer community, Red Card Cancer and the American Cancer Society seek to become the platform for how the soccer community fights cancer together.
The campaign target is to raise $17,000 by Sunday February 23rd. Help us make a difference and donate today! Individual, teams, clubs and our member leagues- please join us to beat Connecticut, but really, to beat cancer.
