Join the Salt Lake County Youth Government in supporting the East African Refugee Goat Project!
The East African Refugee Goat Project is a collaboration between International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City and three East African refugee communities – Somali Bajuni, Somali Bantu, and Burundian – to raise meat goats for food, youth education, and cultural continuity.
Last year, SLCo Youth Government volunteered at the Goat Project ranch, where they saw the work of the Goat Project and the communities firsthand. They also noticed a need beyond hands-on volunteer projects: donations to support herd growth, community youth engagement, and refugee community-centric activities in Salt Lake City.
Your gift today will directly support the Goat Project's capacity-building efforts, helping refugees in our community purchase materials and equipment needed to maintain off-site goat grazing, improve infrastructure at the ranch site, and increase the size of their goat herd.
100% of funds raised will support the East African Refugee Goat Project in Utah, a program of the International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City. Questions about your donation? Email us at SaltLakeCity@Rescue.org.
