Our team, Earning Substance for Strays has the mentality of adopting not shopping. I (and we) encourage anyone to join our this team that feels like earning dough for doggies & kitties. Our team is raising money for the Southwestern Michigan Humane Society, which is the ONLY non kill shelter in the region. This team works extremely hard as a team to find housing for all animals from bording, application and the entire placement process-- and they need help to continue their operations. We are going to do this by challenging eachother to get outside; in anyway you choose.
Pick your outside activity, how many days or how long you will participate and ask people to pledge either per time or even a flat rate, if you aren't just donate.. Think of your elementary fun runs, punt pass kick competion or a free throw throwing contest. Any dollar helps and anyway you are willing to move your body will help keep these animals receiving the love they need. Anything counts-- they need this to stay alive and stay alive and keep giving back to our furry friends.
Remember: Every $1.00 you raise will go to the care of the homeless animals here at HSSM. The cost to care for the animals is around $7.50 per day/per animal. This provides food, shelter, vet care and medicine until they find a furever home.

During these dog (cat) days of summer, there is no better way to enjoy the great outdoors either on a beautiful hike, or a paddle on the lake (please wear your safety gear and drink lots of water). How can we make it even more enjoyable? How about a fundraising campaign to challenge your peers to raise money for the homeless animals at the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan!
During the pandemic, we have had to cancel or postpone in-person events. Instead of letting that slow us down, we have decided to create this virtual event that allows social distancing, and is an interactive way to help raise much needed funds to continue our Rescue and Re-homing program.
So start or join a team, and lets find out how much we can raise for the homeless cats and dogs at the shelter!
