Hello and thank you for taking time to read this over. My name is Judi Cozzetto and I am the 2019/20 Board Chair of the Friends of the Salmo Public Library Society. The Board is seeking assistance to raise $5,100.00 (Cdn) to replace the children’s “Early Literacy Station” computer at our Library.
This single station has been used every business day by children between the ages of 2 and 8 who know their way around a computer, but who are not quite ready for a “big kids” computer. It is pre-loaded with teaching games, has a colour keyboard, and child-sized headphones and mouse.
The ordinary lifespan of a personal computer is five years. The existing device was purchased in 2011. To date, our Library has had a local computer store volunteer services to repair and maintain the device, but the age of the machine will only allow so much work to be undertaken.
Raising $5,100.00 (Cdn) will allow the Friends to purchase a new all-in-one English Early Literacy Station complete with touch-screen, colour keyboard, built-in speakers, child-sized mouse and 70+ educational software programs; and an additional 2 year extended warranty and upgrade program (for a total of 5 years), child-sized headphones and an enhanced support stand.
Again, thank you for taking time to read this over and for giving this cause your consideration.
