So many children around the world lack access to books and are unable to develop crucial literacy skills that can help them break the shackles of poverty. We believe in the transformative power of education and books. Village Book Builders is an organization that establishes libraries in villages around the world to create hope in ending the cycle of poverty through education. Village Book Builders works with each village until the children are reading three books per month on average and graduation rates for high school rise to 75% or higher.
Currently, refugees in the Dzaleka refugee camp in Malawi have no access to a library, and refugee youth are without an education or quality books. This campaign is designed to raise enough funds to build a library and establish a mentoring program among the refugees in the camp. Join us in our efforts to give the gift of reading to those who need--and want--it most!
