JazzED students are learning amidst the pandemic; connections between young people are forged through music, and our mission is alive, it's just over the internet. Your gift, whether that's monetary or simply cheering us on, will support the hard work that JazzED students and teachers are doing right now.
Your gift will do 3 things instantly:
· Keep all learning FREE or accessible via sliding scale tuition
· Create NEW classes, videos and online tools for young people and teachers for the duration of this crisis
· Invest in INSTRUMENTS and TECHNOLOGY for our students without the means to easily connect to music education right now
We feel tremendous hope for the future. Our deeply devoted community, people like YOU, are helping to steer JazzED through this tumultuous time. Nothing can replace playing music together in person but that day will come again, and we'll be ready for it.
Seattle JazzED started in 2010 , operating out of a church in Columbia City. We had 56 students the first year. And now? More than 1,300 students come from over 100 different schools to play together every year. Plus 6,000 young people in Title 1 schools experience a live music JazzED assembly. Our passion is to ensure all students that walk through our doors have a life-affirming musical education in jazz, a quintessential Black American art form. All families can opt into our programs at a price that works for them, no questions asked. Free instrument loans are always available.
