You never know which cards in the game of life will be dealt to whom or when. Two of my friends—both in their early 50’s—were dealt the dreaded ”C” cards, and fight everyday to stay “in the game”. One buddy—G2—was diagnosed with lymphoma, faced it head on, completed endless rounds of chemotherapy, and has been able to maintain his seat at the card table. My other buddy—DSB—was recently dealt a really bad “C” card, and has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer disorder. He is currently in the battle for his life, going through chemo now with even more challenges ahead with stem cell infusions, etc. Never a quitter, DSB is also facing it head on, playing the hand he’s been dealt so courageously.
Competing in Rugged Maniac on March 16 is just one little way that I can try to give back to support not only G2 and DSB, but all who have had that unfortunate hand dealt to them. I will draw inspiration from their fight, and am asking you to also support their fight by whatever donation you can give—every single dollar raised will help those affected get back to “life’s card game”. Thank you for your support. DSB STRONG!!! G2STRONG!!!!
