Welcome to my annual fundraiser for the Dolphin Project! I'll keep doing this until dolphins are freed from captivity and mercilessly slaughtered in Taiji, Japan.
I worked at SeaWorld, which I thought would be a magical experience when I first got the job. Instead, I quickly realized how miserable the lives of these beautiful, incredibly intelligent, sentient (self-aware) creatures were. Free, they swim for miles and communicate with their brethren across the ocean using sonar; at SeaWorld and other marine animal amusement parks, they are confined to small swimming pools, echo chambers of loneliness and despair. They are "cared for" by teenagers and are susceptible to disease.
Don't confuse your children by taking them to these parks under the guise of "education" and "conservation." Everything about that is a lie, and do you really want your kids to grow up thinking that animal abuse is ok? Please join us—in spirit, running with us, contributing to this fundraiser, or vowing never to pay for a front-row seat to see a dolphin's torture.
