Every day, kids like Jamira come to the Boys & Girls Club. She’s bright and funny. She loves to draw and read. She also gives the best hugs and will always make you laugh.
Being at the Boys & Girls Club matters to both Jamira AND her family. She attends along with three of her brothers, and she loves it. She gets homework help, warm meals, and has the chance to laugh and play with friends. But it’s also an affordable option for her family, and without it, her mom will tell you that she and her brothers would probably be at home. “They’re old enough to stay on their own, but that doesn’t mean it’s right. It’d just be the only option I’d have.” Because people like YOU in the community, that isn’t the case.
Because of you, kids like Jamira have somewhere special to go when the school bell rings. They have homework help, computer access, fun activities, field trips, a hot meal, and so much more. The Club is a community of support- a home away from home that exists because of people like YOU.
Although the Club keeps its fees low to make it an option for every kid, many families still need additional help. Jamira is one of four kids who come to the Club, and even a $10 weekly fee adds up when you pay it for each child. That’s why the Club is committed to reducing rates for any child who needs it. No child is turned away.
