Light up the night as we walk to overcome stigma and promote awareness of suicide prevention in our communities!
What is the Brown County Coalition for Suicide Prevention?
Over 30 agencies represent the Coalition including schools, universities, health care providers, nonprofit orgs, public health officials, law enforcement officials, treatment centers and community advocates. The Coalition actively works to bring awareness and reduce stigma to prevent suicide in Brown County, Wisconsin.
Be The Light Walk is held every year in September.
The purpose of this event is to bring Survivors together, provide information about resources and initiatives around Brown County that are specific to suicide prevention and mental health care, and inform the general public in ways they can participate in preventing suicide.
Funds raised from the Walk stay in Brown County, Wisconsin and go to help fund education programs and initiatives in our schools, colleges and greater communities.
Together, using the QPR training module, the Coalition has added over 30,000 suicide prevention gatekeepers to our communities in the past 8 years -- the most of any coalition in Wisconsin.
