Clothing, connections, confidence! The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Dress for Success Pittsburgh is proud to have offered services to more than 3500 women in Southwestern PA in 2018, our most impactful year yet! Of those, 614 women were served at 37 different mobile events across the counties we serve, allowing the team to reach women who may lack adequate transportation as a barrier to employment. Access to the appropriate attire, personal branding support and encouragement provides an essential foundation prior to an interview, new job, training program or internship. The Dress for Success Pittsburgh team strives to walk alongside each woman as she takes the next step in her journey to financial independence.
Thanks to the support of its generous donors and a successful Women Rock Pittsburgh fundraiser in 2018, the organization will be adding two mobile boutiques in 2019 – up until now, the team has been making the magic of mobile events happen out of the trunks of their cars! Dedicated vehicles will allow for increased safety, efficiency, reach and impact. The North Mobile Boutique will serve Allegheny and Butler counties, and the South Mobile Boutique will serve Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties.
The team is on track to have both vehicles on the road by Spring, but they need your help! Donate today to support ongoing costs (fuel, insurance, parking and maintenance) and to help the team stock the boutique with commonly needed items (medical scrubs, nonskid shoes, personal care items, steel-toed boots.)
