"Education is power for everyone". - Traditional Swahili
Hi there! We are four Canadian teenagers who believe that education is a right, not a privilege, and every child in the world deserves to be educated. Our goal is to raise enough money ($10,000) to build a primary school in Kenya.
The Dream Team is a network of schools and communities, much like WE Charity itself, coming together to raise money to build a school. We believe that by collaborating and pooling our resources together as equal partners of the project, we can both reach our goal faster and be able to create connections across the world to do good, something that is rooted in the principles of WE Charity.
We are four of thirty-three students who travelled to Enoosoito, Kenya in July 2019 to build two new classrooms. During this trip, we became aware of the importance of education, and decided to create a initiative that will continue to help give Kenyans access to schooling and the opportunities that having basic knowledge and skills will bring. And like the traditional Swahili saying, we believe that education is power for everyone. Providing students with opportunities to learn is not only the first step to breaking the poverty cycle, but can empower a person - and a community - forever.

UPDATE #1 (Oct. 10): We are beyond excited to announce that we've partnered with WE Charity and the community of Ilmedeketa, Kenya, to fundraise to build a primary school in their community. We're especially pumped because Ilmedeketa is only a few kilometres away from Enoosoito, where we stayed for two weeks in July. Every dollar you contribute is one step closer to providing a safe space for education for the ~500 children in Ilmedeketa!
