I have been blessed with the opportunity to be part of Dream Big! for the last two years, raising over $18,000. My dream of a second Boston Marathon was cut short in the 2019 season, 25 days before the race I underwent surgery to stabilize a grade four stress fracture in my femoral neck (hip bone). The first twenty-four hours were full of tears and thoughts over all I had lost. The opportunity for another Boston, the months ahead of rehab and limited physical activity. I immediately shifted my focused and reminded myself many of our girls are faced with difficult situations and I wouldn't quit just because my circumstances had changed.
Six months after #theyearididntrun, I am humbled to return to this team with 21 other individuals to run my SECOND (for real this time) Boston Marathon. My goal of $8,000 would help provide a new community-based sports program for ONE HUNDRED female athletes. Please join me on this #roadBACKtoboston as we bring female athletes together to Dream Big! and achieve their greatest potential.
