Drag Syndrome is internationally acclaimed Drag troop for award winning performers with Down Syndrome who need your help to make 2020 U.S tour happen.
“Drag Syndrome is a drag act doing something truly transgressive—asserting their freedom and full humanity”-Slate Magazine
Following rave reviews internationally, the first US performance of Drag Syndrome produced by DisArt sparked a conversation about disability, sexuality, and agency that has been simmering, hiding just below the surface of North America’s comfort zone.
On the heels of Drag Syndrome’s main-stage performance at RuPaul’s DragCon in London, Drag Syndrome and DisArt will hit the road, kicking off a six city U.S. stretch of Drag Syndrome’s 2020 World Tour at SXSW the international mega-festival in Austin, TX.
The 2020 U.S. tour pairs DisArt’s innovative accessible event production, educational community programming, media access and strong, national disability, contemporary art and academic networks with the artistry, energy, glitter and charm that is Drag Syndrome. The results are transformational and have proven to be a potent way to energize a movement that addresses biases meant to protect a status quo of exclusion and discrimination.
“This is performance as a celebration of the body and condition in which it exists” -Hyperallergic
“[Drag Syndrome] has taken the stage in London, Stockholm, Oslo and Montreal, adopting flashy alter egos and basking in the crowd’s applause”-The New York Times
“I donated because no voices should be silenced. Ever. In the political climate we are currently in, its never been more important in my lifetime to add my marginalized voice to the other marginalized voices—collectively we will Roar!”– H. B.
To date, initial efforts have raised more than $10,000 and are targeting an additional $50,000 per city with a national fundraising campaign to truly create transformative social change.

Drag Syndrome…Disability Art Trailblazers
Disability Arts and Culture is experiencing one of it's most influential and visible, global moments thanks to the cultural, political, and aesthetic work being done by the award-winning dance company Drag Syndrome. They have tackled and conquered the top venues, museums, and clubs in Europe with their unique approach to the art of drag. When they arrived in September 2019 for their USA premier in Grand Rapids, Michigan they inadvertently triggered a conversation about disability, sexuality, and agency that had been simmering just below the surface of North America’s comfort zone.
