Thank you for your consideration of Dayton Pop Warner Football and Cheer as a recipient of a donation for the upcoming 2021 season! It really makes a difference for the children in our community, especially during these trying times.
Participation in physical activity after the end of a long school day can make a crucial difference in kids’ lives. According to the CDC regular physical activity can help children and adolescents improve cardiorespiratory fitness, build strong bones and muscles, control weight, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and reduce the risk of developing health conditions such as heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes. Also, Stanford Children’s Health recognizes a range of physical, emotional, and interpersonal benefits of organized sports for kids including: better vision, healthy weight, motor skill development, social skill development, self-confidence, sportsmanship, fun and enjoyment, and friendship. Coachable kids become employable adults!
This season (like everything else right now) has been impacted severely by COVID-19, in fact we were one of the few programs in our area attempting to push through the pandemic and provide an opportunity for our community to participate in some semblance of normalcy by offering a football and cheer season when the season was called off mid-July. Due to the restrictions on public gatherings we have had to get creative with our fundraising ventures to continue to support our kiddos, and this has brought here in the hopes that you are as passionate about the success of our children as we are! At this time we are unsure of what requirements will be in place when we are allowed to resume play, however we are always in need of support for equipment, insurance, fees, and other expenses.
Thank you again for your support of our kids and our community! Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
**NOTE: The 2020 season was cancelled by our governing organization, all funds raised will now go toward the 2021 season and beyond!
