As we face Coronavirus (COVID-19) challenges fearlessly, let's keep VA college students in mind. Many, including our scholars, are able to continue their education using online platforms. Hopefully, they will have the opportunity to graduate or return in the fall.
We as a community have to remain diligent and prepare to provide assistance to students that need our help with purchasing costly textbooks. No one can predict what will happen in the upcoming months with certainty. Nevertheless, let's move forward optimistically and do our part to ensure the proper funding is available for our children this fall.
Our goal for 2020 is to award a minimum of $30,000 in scholarships. Our flagship fundraiser, the 12th Annual Black & White Affair Charity Benefit, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. That gala yields over 90% of our program funding, which means our revenue has been drastically reduced and negatively impacted.
Please dig deep to support our future leaders if you are able. No amount is too small and every sacrificial gift will make a difference.
Stay safe and be well,
