Financially this can be a scary time. We want our community to know that DMS is doing everything we can to help families who are struggling with the economic setbacks brought about by Covid-19. We have reduced and extended tuition payments for this year for a number of families who found themselves suddenly without work. We are also offering another opportunity to apply for scholarships for the 20-21 school year for those families whose financial situations have changed. The scholarship program has always been vital in helping some families bridge the gap to pay tuition and provide their children with a great Montessori education. With the tough choices that many of our families are facing, the reality is that the need for assistance has increased. As the Covid-19 situation has also led to the cancelation of the Spring auction, a primary source of the school’s scholarship funding, DMS needed to find a new way to reach out to our broader community in support of our children. To that end, a Go Fund Me page has been created to raise the funds needed to keep our scholarship program funded and our community intact. If you have participated in and donated to the auction in the past, please consider donating at that level through the Go Fund Me page or directly to DMS. Every dollar counts—even the smallest contribution helps bind our community together. Our scholarship fund supports your child's best friend. It makes learning to read possible for those who struggle. Without a robust scholarship fund, we will not see familiar faces when school reopens. Please give. Please ask family, friends, and neighbors to give. We have sorely missed our community over the last several weeks, and we want to do all we can to make sure that all of our children are able to return to DMS when school re-opens. Please help us meet our goal of $25,000 to ensure our Scholarship Fund is available to all DMS families in need.
