We all know people fighting cancer, but how can you win or lose if you can't even afford to compete? My husband Jeff Jones and I recently learned what a challenge it can be when insurance declined to cover a cancer test he needed.
We are blessed that we could afford Jeff's $13,280 bill -- but we were devastated to learn how inaccessible necessary treatment could be for so many others.
So we turned our frustration here. Along with Coaches vs. Cancer, we are fundraising until the 2019 Final Four for cancer patients in need.
Hope Lodges provide accommodations for the many cancer patients who need to travel for treatment.
Why it matters: Not having to worry about that one thing -- where to stay, or how to pay for it – allows patients to focus on the important things – like surviving.
Please join us in supporting the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge Network.
Thank you for helping to ease the burden of our fellow fighters.
