The brave men and women of our military travel around the world to defend the freedom we enjoy at home. So, it’s only right that when they return, we bring the services and support they need, to those veterans where they live. The DuPage Veterans Chapter of the Disabled America Veterans helps in more ways than you may know. Every year we provide assistance to Fisher House, “a home away from home” for family members, caregivers or loved ones of patients receiving medical care at the Hines VA Hospital. Assistance also is given to activities that provide assistance for homeless Veterans providing cold weather sleeping bags, clothing and meals. Café Liberty, who helps veterans learn new skills as a cook, is yet another organization we support.
The DuPage Veterans of the Disabled American Veterans, is one of the largest Chapters in the State of Illinois. With over 700 members from World War II to Vietnam to the War on Terror, the DuPage Veterans know how to help our fellow Veterans and give them the assistance they need. With the current situations caused by the pandemic, fund raising has become impossible. Our biggest fundraising event at the Golden Corral on Veterans Day was canceled, dramatically limiting our abilities to help those in need. Being able to meet people face to face and reach out to the public has not been possible.
Please help us help our brave men and women who stood the line to protect the freedoms you enjoy every day. Even a small donation can help as long as we all get together to support a great cause, Giving Back to America’s Finest.
