This past November 11th Maude my 11 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. She is the toughest kid I know and is thankfully doing well due to the great people at the Joslin Diabetes center in Boston.
Type 1 Diabetes is a chronic disease that requires constant monitoring and management.
We are very fortunate to be able to have Maude's care at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston.
This May I will be riding the Dirty Kanza in Emporia Kansas. The race is a beast. 200 miles in one straight shot on the hot and hilly Flint Hills of Kansas.
Riding 200 miles is difficult, it requires training and discipline along with some good luck. Diabetes is much more work. Managing diabetes is an endurance effort with no days off.
It is my hope that some of you will be able to donate money for each mile I plan to ride. Every dollar goes directly to Joslin Diabetes Center.
$0.10 x 200miles = $20
$0.25 x 200miles = $50
$0.50 x 200miles = $100
$1.00 x 200miles = $200
No child should ever have to deal with this Type 1 Diabetes. It is my hope that any money we raise helps find a cure.
