Esther married her husband and shortly thereafter he began to abuse her. Esther found out that she could file a police report which she did. Two weeks later her husband was released from jail, and this gave Esther the courage to file for divorce and move into a shelter with her daughter. There she found out that she qualified for an immigration remedy for victims of serious crimes who co-operate with law enforcement. Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services (DMRS) helped Esther to get her legal residency through this immigration program. Esther cried when she received her residency card, looking forward to the day when she can become U.S. Citizen. Please help people like Esther and other deserving immigrants through your timely donation to DMRS. Due to the many changes that the current administration has made and continues to make in immigration policies and procedures, DMRS is experiencing a reduction in federal grant revenues for these purposes. This reduction in federal revenues affects the ability of the organization to provide effective, cost-efficient, legal immigration services to its clients.
