J.D. & Bonnie Mitchell have just donated a dinosaur fossil collection to the Mount St. Helens Creation Center in Castle Rock, WA!
This collection and associated display cases have a value of over $52,000.00. Our goal is to use these fossils to show the case for the Biblical account of creation and the worldwide flood! We believe it will build the faith of Christians, and challenge non-believers. It will also be an educational resource to families who visit the Center!
Below is the announcement from JD Mitchell:
In my decades of researching, writing, and speaking about the origins controversy, I have learned that there are two favorite arguments used in the ongoing attempt to convince the general public that macroevolution is possible. Those arguments are that the fossils in the rock record show the evolution of life, and that dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago. In reality these atheistic arguments are easily countered by a biblical creationist interpretation of the evidence. In my creation ministry I have been collecting evidence and writing about the true interpretation of fossils and dinosaurs for many years. Lately, I have been looking for the best possible location in the Pacific Northwest to display my large fossil collection and to interpret dinosaurs and the rock record according to God’s word. So, I am extremely excited to announce that Director Pat Roy and the Board of Directors of the Mount St. Helens Creation Center have agreed to join with me to display and interpret my fossils, replicas, and artifact collection in a brand-new Dinosaur & Fossil Museum at the creation center in Castle Rock. I believe strongly that this museum will be a great complement to the other existing and future displays at the center and to the important mission of the Mount St. Helens Creation Center. Hopefully God will send many to the museum for education and edification over the upcoming years.
