Hi, late notice, it's my birthday on November 25 (NOT celebrating in any way except by running for this cause), please consider donating a tiny amount to sponsor my charity run for God's Love We Deliver (I signed up today, frankly). It might pour and I'm insanely slow and still getting over a chest cold but I feel like this is such an amazing organization, they prepare and deliver free medically tailored meals to extremely sick people who are in no shape to cook for themselves or who are low on cash. GLWD also feeds their caregivers and children, come the fuck on, such an indispensable service!
I hate the name of the organization, frankly, but if you're an atheist, just substitute "God's" with "Kind Strangers'" Love. You can be one of those kind strangers by donating... My goal is small so consider a donation of $5 (the price of a bagel with tuna salad at a cheaper bodega and you save yourself the mercury poisoning and shame about moistly masticating potentially rancid tuna salad in public)... Love you all, and of course zero pressure...but utter gratitude if you feel up to a small or large donation...Obviously, I'd love to raise more than a $100 but I didn't know whether I'd be stuck with whatever I didn't raise so i made it smallish cause I'm broke. Sorry about the photo, gofundme prompted me to provide one, claiming it would help, and I considered attaching a photo of sick people eating food in bed and that seemed rather exploitative (thanks Erin Albrecht for the rad photograph).
"The November 24th Race to Deliver is one of the largest annual fundraisers for God’s Love We Deliver. The race is a symbol of their daily race to ensure no one person has to face the unthinkable combination of illness and hunger. God's Love delivers more than 7,200 meals each weekday, and the number of meals grow rapidly. With your help, we can continue to provide medically tailored meals to our clients, their children and senior caregivers.
Please help make a difference $10 = one medically tailored meal."
