The 2nd Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament was hosted September 13-14, 2019.
Funds donated will continue to go directly to the Vaidya Adrenal Research Fund within Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Sandy Hoffman, the winningest active New England Division II women’s volleyball coach and a 2014 selection for the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, served as Bentley's head volleyball coach from 1982-2013. She took a medical leave of absence in August 2014 and lost a long battle with Adrenocortical carcinoma cancer on August 31, 2015.
In 2015, the "Dig Lavender" campaign was honored for raising more than $20,000 for research. Lavender was chosen because it represents cancers without a specific assigned color.
On April 21, 2020, Sandy's mother, Barbara Hoffman passed peacefully at the age of 89 in Viera, Florida. In lieu of flowers and sympathy cards, Barb requested that donations in her name be made to support the continuing work of Dr. Anand Vaidya of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in his work to cure Adrenal Cancer.
We hope to continue to honor their legacy and support the ongoing research efforts at the Vaidya Adrenal Research Fund.
