Help the Diar Foundation change the world for women!
As of 2019, 61% of women in South Sudan and Uganda are starving and over 84% are illiterate. The COVID pandemic has only worsened the situation.
Today, these women need your help. The Yirol Farm School and vocational training program lack adequate funding for critical infrastructure repairs and operating expenses. Without funding, the farm will no longer be functional. Without support, more than 553 active women farmers will be without a place to go. No donation is too small and every dollar will empower them to live a better life.
Your donation will go directly to keeping the farm operational:
-Solar battery that powers electricity and irrigation to the farm-$6180
-Water tap repairs to 38 taps and one main line-$1700 Fence repairs to keep cows from grazing farm and for safety-$850
-Latrine repairs for collapsed pit toilets-$750
-6 months of operating expenses and supplies for farm programming and training-$7800
In addition to the 553 active farmers at the Yirol farm school, there are more than 950 local women waiting to register and participate at the farm in the coming year. If the above repairs are not made, our farm could sadly cease operations. These women would lose their safe place, their supply of clean water, and their food source.
Today, you can change a woman’s life and empower her to live a better tomorrow!
The Diar Foundation was formed by a woman, for women. Its mission is to strengthen the women and children in South Sudan and Uganda through education, farming, small business development, and supportive networks.
