In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Vanya has had health problems all his life, due to a difficult birth and two weeks spent in resuscitation under the apparatus of artificial respiration. But Vanya does not give up and since birth has been fighting for his right to life!
Diagnosis — Organic CNS damage, microcephaly, spastic tetraparesis, partial atrophy of the optic nerve, symptomatic epilepsy, delayed mental and speech development.
Over the course of his seven years, Vanya has undergone a lot of rehabilitation, we are taking a large number of drugs, and all this gives its results.
Doctors predicted a “lying” lifestyle for Vanya, but thank God we have achieved a lot. Vanyusha stomps with support, tries to sit on his own, stands, understands speech addressed to him. At the moment, the doctors have changed their minds, the main thing is not to stop.
In addition to rehabilitation, we also practice at home every day.
Vanya is a very capable and cheerful boy. Like all children, he loves to play, but he doesn’t refuse to take classes.
With our diagnosis, constant expensive drugs and rehabilitation are needed. Only this way we can get closer to a full life!"
Vanya is currently in need of diapers, incontinence sheets and medicines!
