Helping Our Community One Storefront at a Time!
In Greensboro, our downtown business owners are our neighbors. They own and run small “mom and pop shops” that are unique and help make our downtown so special.
The COVID-19 pandemic closures has left our retailers scrambling to cover lost income, pay existing bills (like rent), and so much more. While we have begun to look at what re-opening looks like, many are in need during this fragile time.
Downtown Greensboro Inc., with additional support from the Guilford Merchants Association and the Greensboro Virus Relief Fund, has created a Retail Revitalization Grant (RRG) Program to help our retailers in Downtown Greensboro impacted by COVID-19. Grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded for new business plan initiatives, inventory growth, marketing, rent assistance, job retention and other related business expenses.
Area residents who would like to support locally owned and operated retailers in downtown Greensboro are welcome to contribute. This GoFundMe effort has been created for those who want to help support our local retailers through this incredibly difficult time. Through crowdfunding, you have the power to make an immediate difference for your local favorite shop. With a little encouragement and support from community members, small businesses can survive the coronavirus crisis and continue to thrive long after.
