The DFW Humane Society is a no-kill shelter dedicated to giving homeless and unwanted pets a second chance in life through adoption.
We house about 60-80 animals at any given time.
We don’t receive any state or federal funding so we depend solely on caring people for our survival.
DFW Humane Society (DFWHS) was founded in 1967 in Irving, TX by four residents who felt compelled to provide shelter and care for homeless pets in Irving and provide a voice for them. DFWHS continues that mission today throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth community by providing care, comfort, and enrichment for pets in their shelter which can hold up to 80 pets. DFWHS also provides adoption services, arranges for special needs medical treatment for pets in the shelter, offers temporary pet food assistance to those in need, and educates the community about animal welfare.
