Over the past year, I've been volunteering for In Shifra's Arms (ISA), which provides crucial resources for pregnant women in need.
I joined the #DeliverMore Campaign because, especially now, we must support women in crisis.
The reality of unplanned pregnancy crises predates COVID-19. But since the pandemic hit, many women are facing challenges they couldn't have imagined a few months ago--from loss of income to severe domestic stress or abuse.
Through it all, In Shifra's Arms has been helping in the same way it has since 2009: by providing direct financial aid, counseling, free babysitting, postpartum care packages, or essential goods. ISA can deliver these goods and services virtually anywhere, and it does so on its clients' terms, based on what they need most, with no strings attached.
Through care packages and professional counseling, financial aid and essential goods, ISA delivers the resources women need to overcome extraordinary challenges. They offer services from the woman's first trimester to the baby's first birthday.
I am reaching out to you because I want to make sure pregnant women have the resources they need. If ISA can raise $20,000 by midnight of August 27, generous donors will triple that amount to help ISA meet their goal of $60,000.
The money we raise goes directly toward supporting clients. Every dollar counts; $60 can help with diapers and wipes for a month, and even $15 can help an overwhelmed single mom with a newborn.
The mother of the baby featured in this photo received grants toward diapers and childcare, along with partial sponsorship in a job-training program. She had entered the program in order to be able to better support her son, and despite the fact that her training was scheduled to begin just around the time lockdowns started, she didn't back down. With ISA's unwavering support, she is building a positive future for herself and her baby.
For the sake of all the women who need us, we must also be unstoppable. Please join me so we can #DeliverMore hope, strength, resources, compassion and community to pregnant women in need.
