"If not now, when?" (Pirkei Avot) This is the kind of quetion that In Shifra's Arms members ask themselves on a daily basis.
My name is Yaffa Weitzman. I am an incoming Sophomore at Yeshiva University High School for Girls. I learned about In Shifra's Arms when I was doing research for a persuasive essay that I had to write when I as in 8th grade. Because I love helping children, I wanted to write an essay about an organization that cares for children. I came across In Shifra's Arms. After reading about this remarkable organization, I decided that I wanted to be a part of this astounding cause. Even though I am young, I would not allow that to stop me from persuing my dream of helping others. I decided that I wanted to raise money to support this corporation. The amount that I want to raise is $1,000.
Since 2009, In Shifra's Arms has provided professional counseling, financial aid, care packages, and essential goods to more than 200 pregnant Jewish women and their children who suffer extreme poverty, abandonment, estrangement, homelessness, job loss, and other crises across North America. In Shifra's Arms operates more like an extended family than agency, always with the respect and compassion the women need to move forward on their terms, with no strings attached.
The reality of unplanned pregnancy crises predates COVID-19. Because of the pandemic, my goal is to raise $1,000 of our $20,000 goal. If we reach that by Aug. 27, generous donors will DOUBLE MATCH it for a total raise of $60k. That would be grand!
Please join me and donate now, so we can #DeliverMore love, strength, hope, resources, and community to the pregnant Jewish women who need us most.
May G-D reward everyone with health and happiness.
