Through "a community thrives," DHA plans to implement a new, free vaccination clinic for income qualified residents at our Wilmington location, twice a month (or more often depending on funds). This will be a supplement to our existing low-cost monthly vaccination clinics and our new One Health Clinic. Unfortunately, there is essentially a “Veterinary desert” in our community, and we have an opportunity to make a big difference to those in need and their pets.
Founded in 1957, Delaware Humane Association (DHA) is Delaware’s premiere, non-profit, no kill animal shelter and adoption center serving a four state area.
We are committed to providing for the needs of homeless and owned dogs and cats in our community. We serve the community by offering affordable spay and neuter services, low cost vaccination clinics, affordable adoptions, and a pet food pantry. Additionally, we provide a free veterinary clinic offering wellness visits, vaccines, and treatment of ill animals the first Saturday of every month in a high poverty area in Wilmington, Delaware. In 2018, we facilitated a total of 1,892 adoptions of our cats and dogs.
