Back in September 2017, the Trump Administration--guided by a discriminatory and baseless belief that women and girls often lie about sexual harassment and violence--enacted an extreme and unconstitutional Title IX policy that makes it harder for survivors to achieve justice on campus. Specifically, Secretary DeVos repealed critical Title IX protections for survivors issued under the Obama Administration that spurred national change on college and university campuses across the country to improve the way they respond to and prevent sexual violence. On January 25, 2018, SurvJustice joined co-plaintiffs Equal Rights Advocates, and Victim Rights Law Center to file a lawsuit against Secretary DeVos and the Department of Education through our counsel at Democracy Forward, National Center for Youth Law, and the National Women’s Law Center. This suit seeks to strike down the Trump administration’s efforts to deny justice for survivors. In this #MeToo movement, it is more important than ever that we support survivors. You can do so by donating today to help us defend Title IX.
