It’s with a very heavy and broken heart that I share my beautiful ray of sunshine has received her angel wings. She was the most loving wife, mother, mom mom, sister, aunt and friend to everyone single person her heart touched. She was the bravest, strongest most determined warrior during her 17 year cancer battle. She was a role model and true inspiration to so many. I know that without her pushing me to achieve my dreams and teaching me about life I would not be half the person I am today. Heaven is lucky to have such an amazing angel flying high above. It’s not good bye mom, it’s until we meet again. I love you to the moon and back , always and forever sunshine!
Anyone who crossed paths with my beloved Mother knew how committed she was to the American Cancer Society. You could find her on a Relay For Life track here at home or visiting one throughout the country. My Mom was a cancer warrior and wasn't the least bit intimidated taking her fight to the Harrisburg capitol steps or DC. She was an advocate for clean indoor air by eliminating smoking in restaurants or indoor public places: a strong presence extending insurance coverage for all and so many other cancer related legislative issues. If that wasn't enough, she dedicated her time to others. My Mom would connect with those newly diagnosed with cancer and being that person providing comforting words and a shoulder to cry on.
As her family, we know her wishes would be to continue this fight and we are asking that in lieu of gifts or flowers to please make a donation to the charity nearest and dearest to her amazing heart - the American Cancer Society!
