About 7 years ago, I started a journey to lose weight. I had begun similar journeys in the past, but had never been successful. Something was different this time. On this journey I lost almost 100 pounds, ran my first mile ever, participated in triathlons, and learned to play hockey. When I began my journey, I thought I would look better in the mirror, but what I experienced was so much more. My self-confidence grew, allowing me to find success in my personal and professional life.
I have decided to run the 2018 Walt Disney World Half Marathon, while raising money for the Catch a Lift Fund. The Catch a Lift Fund helps post 9/11 combat wounded veterans regain their mental and physical health through gym memberships, in home equipment, personalized fitness and nutrition programs, and a peer support network. I have experienced how physical fitness can have a positive impact on all aspects of my life, and want to be able to help those who have given so much for our country to be able to experience the same.
My goal is to raise at least $1,310 ($100 for every mile I am running). Please consider making a donation to help me reach this goal.
