I am beyond excited to share that I'm running the Boston Marathon 2020 in support of Rebekah's Angels!! Rebekah Gregory was on Boylston Street in April 2013 when the bombs exploded. Her 5 year old son, Noah, was sitting on the sidewalk at her feet. Her body shielded him from the blasts, saving his life. She ultimately lost her left leg. I have followed Rebekah through these years as she has turned her story into an incredible opportunity to help children who are faced with traumatic adversity, or PTSD.
PTSD is often "silent" in children, and it requires early diagnosis and treatment to avoid the trauma experienced as the child grows. Many families coming out of a PTSD circumstance do not have the means to afford this specialized trauma-focused treatment. Insurance does not cover it.
So this is me doing my tiny part to try to make right what went so unfairly wrong in April 2013, and to help children with PTSD have the chance they deserve to grow up healthy and whole. Rebekah has helped me in ways she could never know as I've followed her story. I am both thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to give back in this spirit. We cannot thank you enough for your support!!
