Facebook friends and family,
On April 26th, 1992 I was involved in a motorcycle accident that resulted in serious injury to my left leg. Exactly one year and twelve surgeries later my lower left leg was amputated. We’ve celebrated April 26th as my “Alive Day”ever since.
I’ve been very fortunate to have the support of friends, family and my extended family at Hendrick Automotive Group. Prosthetics have come a long way in 25 years. Carbon fiber, titanium, microchips and stubbornness allow me to do what I want without assistance 99% of the time.
The Amputee Coalition of America provides assistance for folks less fortunate than I am. I hope y’all will consider a donation to help me celebrate my 50th birthday next week.
I will match all donations and promise to volunteer for Amputee peer support at the conclusion of the fundraiser.
