On March 24th, 2019 I will be running the LA Marathon for a second time and kindly ask for your help by supporting Miracle Feet; a charity treating clubfoot in low and middle income countries worldwide.
Clubfoot affects one out of every 800 children worldwide, making it one of the most common birth defects in the world. Unlike so many of the world’s problems, clubfoot is solvable – and treatment is surprisingly inexpensive… Only $250 per child – a small price to pay to transform a child’s life.
I was born in 1980 with a severe clubfoot requiring surgery. Treatment involved reconstructive surgery of my ankle, casts, braces and a significant loss of muscle in my right calf. My parent's had access to treatment and I lived a full life of sport and activity never thinking twice about it living a normal life and more... I am very lucky and very thankful.
Founded by parents of children born with clubfoot in the US, MiracleFeet has helped change the lives of more than 31,000 children in 25 different countries. In low- and middle-income countries, children living with untreated clubfoot face incredible hurdles their whole lives along with stigma and discrimination. Because walking is so difficult, they are among the least likely to enjoy the benefits of education and healthcare. Even worse, children with clubfoot are subject to higher risks of neglect, poverty and abuse.
Please help support Miracle Feet and my goal of reaching $2500.00.
Again, it's only $250 a child to help a child live a better life.
Thank you!
David
