As many of you know - I am always interested in using my cycling to push toward new personal goals, but I also try to use my passion to achieve charitable goals for causes that have affected those close to me. That time has come again in a fundraiser I am leading this November to raise money in the fight against cancer. Cancer has affected us all in one way or another. Personally, many family members of my wife and mine have battled cancer and recently it took the life of a dear friend’s father. So, I am asking you to consider donating to my fundraising page at the American Cancer Society during the month of November (link below).
Here is what I am doing to spur your donations: No Shave - I will not shave for the month of November which has often been requested of me in past years though I have never partaken. Given that, I will make things more interesting this year. Anyone who donates gets to vote on what famous old school wrestling facial hair style I shave my resulting beard into. Options are A. The Rick Rude Traditional Stache, B. Hulk Hogan Horseshoe, C. Triple H Mutton Chops. Add your vote in the Facebook comment section or contact me separately.
No Rest – I am going to ride my bike, and I am going to ride my bike a lot (shhh Caitlin it’ll be fine). My goal is 1,000 miles in those 30 days which given father duties, lessening daylight, and having done a max of 650 miles in a month previous will certainly be a challenge.
Thanks for your support!
P.S. Feel free to add the initials of anyone you know that has battled cancer in the Facebook comment section.
