The Darby Creek Valley Association (DCVA) has worked tirelessly to protect our regional waterways—from Cobb’s Creek to Darby Creek and beyond to the Delaware River. For more than 35 years now, the DCVA has led on environmental action through our Annual Darby Creek Cleanup event. At the 2019 Creek Cleanup, we organized fifty-two (52) cleanup sites across four counties! In that one event, our 932 volunteers removed 109,000 pounds of trash from creeks, streams and roadways.Last spring, local television station PHL17 hailed our signature Creek Cleanup as a shining example of our important work. PHL17 named the DCVA as a “Community Hero” for our environmental leadership in the region. For the upcoming 2020 Annual Darby Creek Cleanup we will:● Engage up to 1,000 volunteers from our region● Remove an estimated 100,000 pounds of trash from local streams and rivers● Organize 50+ cleanup sites in Delaware, Chester, Philadelphia, & Montgomery countiesThe DCVA is ready to lead this monumental effort, but we need your help to make it happen. Will you be hero, and help us continue our efforts.
