Daraja changed her life and gave her the wings to soar above poverty. Now she wants to lift her little sisters.
Today we are raising $60,000 to help bring graduates back to campus where they can mentor the next generation of Daraja girls and network with other Kenyan professionals in the Alumni Mentorship Program.
Many girls find that breaking the cycle of poverty can feel impossible, even after receiving a secondary education. But Daraja doesn’t drop a girl by the side of the road with her diploma when her four years are up. Daraja helps graduates navigate the personal and professional challenges facing girls from difficult backgrounds.
Now it’s their turn to do the teaching!
Alumni Mentorship Days bring together the combined experience of 6 graduating classes to teach their little sisters how to create a self-reliant life. Once a Daraja girl, always a Daraja girl. And that unique sisterhood creates a life-long network of powerful professional women and community leaders.
