One of my favorite memories of my Dad is our summers together at Lake Almanor and Lake Tahoe. We'd spend weeks skiing swimming, and just enjoying time as a family by the water. Every year he brought up his clippers too, and would shave his head - often sporting a mohawk for the whole trip.
It's coming up on a year since he passed away, losing a long battle with stomach cancer. I want to remember the good times, and so I've decided to honor him by emulating his favorite hairstyle - and raising money for a good cause at the same time.
On Sunday, January 13, I'll be shaving a mohawk (and of course providing pictures!). From then on, for every $50 I raise, I'll be keeping that mohawk for one more day, with the goal of running through February 2nd, the one year anniversary of his passing, and raising $1000.
All this will be benefitting No Stomach for Cancer, an organization which supports research around Stomach Cancer and provides a support system for the families of those diagnosed. Please donate as much or as little as you'd like - anyone that donates $200+ (and is based in New York) - gets to wield the clippers at some point during the campaign.
