Story

Prior to my retirement from my full time job in the Cities, I didn't realized what  a strong and vibrant cycling community we have in Excelsior.  I'd seen the families enjoying sunny days on the Lake Minnetonka Regional Trail as well as the many teams of colorfully dressed bikers on our beautiful paved trails and bike lanes, but I didn't understand the friendships and sense of community that went along with these riders.  Unforunately, our cold winters make it difficult for these groups to continue their biking and social activities year round.  The Cycle Loft Excelsior was created to keep the  biking community active and together throughout our colder seasons.  I wanted the most advanced smart trainers paired with available on-line virtual riding programs to give our riding community the most realistic indoor riding experience.  My hope is that the Cycle Loft Excelsior is used riders of all abilities; whether you are riding to get in shape, stay in shape, or win your next tour.

As the Cycle Loft Excelsior developed I realized the space and equipment could be used to tie back into my previous life.  As a general surgeon, I had the priviledge of working with many men and women with cancer.  I have experienced the struggle of a cancer diagnosis on a professional level as well as a personal level in my own family.  As I am sure many in the riding community know, we need to do more to beat cancer.  I jumped at the opportunity to combine my professional life with my  recreational passion.  Please join me in helping win the fight against cancer.  Sign up for the Cycle Loft Ride Against Cancer today and know that each pedal stroke will be used to help someone you know with cancer.
