A Place for the Child Well-Being Movement to Call Home
"Where can we meet?"
It’s a common question among child welfare experts, educators, and advocates who are tired of working alone. Right now, there’s no single space for people and organizations who care about kids to connect, share resources, and collaborate on solutions for issues like child homelessness, infant mortality, and kids’ right to play.
Child’s World America hopes to change that.
We recently broke ground on a new space where the seeds of a movement can be planted: Child’s World Community, an online networking platform designed by and for children’s advocates. Our goal is to break down silos and help groups with compatible goals find each other. Instead of working in the dark, you’ll be able to share ideas, seek collaboration, and take part in collective action.
Exciting, right?
Here are just a few of the amazing things we envision happening on Child’s World Community:
- Two local organizations with the goal of ending childhood hunger find each other and join forces.
- A teacher concerned about childhood literacy learns about a free tutoring program that can help her students.
- Activists around the country plan and promote a national Children’s March.
- A playgroup requests sports equipment, and a nonprofit organization donates frisbees, soccer balls, and jump ropes.
We can’t wait to see how our members use Child’s World Community to bring their goals to life. But first, we need your help to go live. Who Are We?
Child’s World America is a national, nonprofit organization that speaks with a united voice on behalf of children ages 0-18. Our mission is to educate the public, advocate for child-centered public policies, and catalyze the measurable improvement of child wellbeing in America. Our networking platform, Child’s World Community, is an online extension of our efforts to promote collaboration and dialogue among individuals, professionals, and organizations committed to helping children.
What Does Child's World Community Offer?
We will create and support an online meeting place for groups and individuals across areas like childhood hunger, homelessness, abuse, health and wellness, education, play, and myriad other concerns. It’s our goal that this community will springboard fruitful collaborations; serve as a bullhorn for news about events, opportunities, and victories; and offer groups a dedicated space for activity.
On Child’s World Community, you’ll be able to:
Join focused interest GROUPS and collaborate among peers on the issues you care about the most. You can even start or join your own specialized local interest groups.
Stay connected and grow your network of CONTACTS, nationwide! Share links, updates, and messages to targeted groups.
Share your thoughts, news, and initiatives related to child wellbeing on the COMMUNITY BLOG. And, tap into an audience that shares your concerns.
