Thank you so much for supporting new nature relationships that make better mental and physical health accessible to all. Our board and staff know the high price of creating a healthy home atmosphere. Some households can't achieve that healthy home atmosphere, but they yearn for a time when they can. We work to help their yearning come to rest.
The Clement Waters Vision
We believe in a future where every person has access to:a garden that grows fresh food season after season a home that conserves water and energy, stretching household budgets a supportive community with safe naturespaces around every corner
Our Programs and Projects
Our board and staff dedicate their time and resources to provide the following services:Stewardship of the self Forest Yoga
Sessions for individuals or families invite everyone to experience the wonders of nature, your breath, and movement as the seasons change. Taught by Amanda Garner of KC Yoga Kula and Yogi Community.Nature Immersion Therapy
For people wanting to hone their mental health self-coping skills, or people who have received a nature prescription from their doctor, we provide connections to close, safe, facilitated nature immersion experiences.Sustainable Movement
A regular weekly offering of movement study, taught by Clement Waters co-founder Joy Ellsworth, which empowers and encourages participants to:achieve greater body knowledge and intuition find presence in easily accessible natural spots explore fresh foods that provide the best building blocks for our bodies Stewardship of the community Neighbor-Grown Food Network
An extension of stewardship of self, by growing fresh food for ourselves and for our neighbors, we support our community's good health. This year's food gardening will occur at Harold Holliday Montessori School in the Kansas City Public School district.Vacant Lot Vivication
Thanks to support from the Heartland Conservation Alliance, we are undergoing outreach to all and education by request in East KC neighborhoods closest to the Blue River. This project challenges the status-quo that sees vacant lots as overgrown places where we see trash dumped, suggesting new realities based on the hopes and dreams of people living around those lots.Stewardship of the planet Team Naturespace
Whether in a greenhouse, in a bio-intensive companion-planted food garden, or in various naturespace establishment projects around East KC, Clement Waters' volunteer events give people a chance to give back by encouraging more happy plant life on Earth. Our volunteer opportunities get people in closer contact with nature.Mary Severin Legacy Greenhouse
Wouldn't the whole world be better off if we all consumed less water and energy as we live in our houses? We think so, and so does the Kansas City professional chapter of Engineers Without Borders. That's why they're helping design test components of green systems for small square footage homes, which we'll test in a combined tool shed and greenhouse located in our Clement Forest outdoor education space.
Every act drives the movement. A mix of people is helping from every suburb, and from deep within the center of the KC Metro area. We can achieve nature-inspired peace together by donating, volunteering and advocating for this work.
These works are fueled by your kindness. Our internal monthly obligations are over $3,000.00 per month, just to keep things running smoothly in the background of our current projects and programs driving stewardship. Programs and Projects take an additional $3,000.00 to $5,000.00 per month.
When these basic financial thresholds are met, it translates into potent action on the ground, where the world's need is felt the most.Your monthly gift means that our garden volunteers can work more comfortably, fueled with water and snacks, using appropriate tools in glove-covered hands. It means we can manage unexpected change orders on the designs of our off-grid greenhouse and utility shed construction project. It means we can get to & from our material suppliers and garden consult meetings. It means we can continue to be financially accountable every month. It means we will have printed information to pass out to people wanting to get involved. It means we can cover our forest property and all outreach activities with liability insurance. You are the difference the world needs to see right now. Thank you so much.
