Family and friends welcome to my page. This year I am joining the rest of AGE Africa's Board of Directors on September 7, 2019, for the Ride for Malawi and help raise $100,000 to benefit AGE Africa's Scholars.
Why AGE Africa, well, after having worked in Malawi, I know how difficult it is for girls, especiallay those in the rural areas of Malawi, to access school. Every dollar that AGE Africa raises through this event will go directly towards a four-year secondary school scholarship, school supplies, transportation, or life skills program for a girl in Malawi.
Since 2005, AGE Africa has supported over 300 girls with four-year scholarships, over 2500 through their CHATS life skills program, and 66 starter packages for girls entering university or vocational schools. These numbers are promising considering that only 6% of young women in Malawi hold a high school diploma and less than 1% graduate from university. Through AGE Africa's programs, 98% of AGE Africa Scholars completes secondary school and over 50% transition to tertiary education.
I am proud to be part of AGE Africa's work and invite you to be part of my team. Simply click join on this page and set up your fundraising page or make a donation to help me reach my goal.
Feel free to come out on September 7, 2019, to cheer me and the rest of the team on in the Ride for Malawi. See you there!
