Mental Health Matters
For the past 11 years, the Dartmouth Women’s Rugby Team has organized Cully’s Run, a family-friendly 5K run/walk in Storrs Pond. We do this to honor and remember our former teammate, Katy Cullinan ’08, and to spark a conversation about mental health and suicide prevention.
WHY WE WALK/RUN:
By bringing the community together at Cully’s Run, the Dartmouth Women's Rugby team hopes to ignite and raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention, as well as, acquaint the local community with the resources available for anyone who is struggling and in need of assistance. We believe this event can be a stepping stone to help de-stigmatize mental health and can be a reminder that helping someone can be as simple as asking, “Are you OK”. We hope to get the conversation going and perhaps encourage those who are suffering to not make an irreversible decision.
WITH YOUR HELP:
Your donation directly impacts those who are struggling. It goes directly to Headrest, a nonprofit that provides NH, VT, and parts of Maine with their only 24-hour suicide and crisis hotline, and also recovery/treatment services and support. We hope to match or surpass our goal this year! If you can attend and would like to register go here: https://headrest.charityproud.org/EventRegistration/Index/1885
This year, we’re partnering with Positive Tracks, an organization that teaches young people how to sweat for good. They’re providing us with this fundraising site for Headrest and will be matching our dollars at Cully’s Run up to $300!
