Crux Wilderness Therapy is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit based out of Southern California. Crux was founded to support veterans and service individuals in developing long term sustainable strategies for physical and mental health by engaging in outdoor activities. Our efforts particularly focus on education and instruction through rock climbing, backpacking, and hiking so that veterans can feel prepared to engage in a wilderness environment independently or share in this process with their communities, friends, and families.
We began taking veterans outdoors in December 2019 and then quickly had to close our doors like the rest of the world due to the effects of COVID-19 in March. The outdoors is our passion, therapy, motiviation, and an outlet for our mental health. Although we understand the precautions and restrictions set in place to control this devastating outbreak, we are beginning to find our place in the outdoors again and could use the communities help. Our goal to raise $5,000 will help us support veterans in our program.
